I don't really think it's fair to compare Silent Hill and Resident Evil, they are both vastly different despite a few similarities in that it's about survival and that there is a dark underline to the backstory of each series. However, I will say Silent Hill is a lot more scarier than Resident Evil.

I like more the Silent Hill universe. I´m not a fan of games, my opinion is only visually or on the concept.

Resident Evil might've pioneered the survival horror genre, but they deviated from it almost as fast as they could-- while Silent Hill has helped to develop it with titles like 2 and 3, that are terrifying but still have a compelling, interesting storyline that keeps you guessing to the very end.
So SH has my vote. <3

I don't voted dear because it is impossible in this case,actually this is very difficult question.I play games over 15 years
and I finish all resident evil and silent hill games so in some ways they are a part of me and I'm a big fan of RE and Silent Hill.
Silent hill vs Siren or Silent Hill vs Kuon I could easily answered on that but Resident evil and Silent Hill are two different worlds
that can not be compared but if I must to say my vote goes for Sillent Hill.Be well and take care

I love both really I cant decide ;w; (I mean games not movies.)

When I'm looking for fast paced running and shooting while still being scary and unpredictable, RE is the way to go.
When I'm looking for slow paced, SUPER SCARY, easier to play, but a more in depth and symbolic storyline, SH is there for me.

So it really just depends. Funny I was just playing RE4 an hour ago. RE4 is my favorite. Leon <333

Dunno, I never played Silent Hill.

Omg how close! They're somewhat incomparable but the Silent Hill movie was better. I'm a huuuuge HUGE Resident Evil fan (like scarily so) and I refuse to watch the movies lmao.
Silent Hill is more fantastical psycological horror, whereas Resi is more realistic in my opinion. I still haven't tapped into Silent Hill enough, but I really want to play it.
