She's lovely :3 I like how her pose makes the picture flow, you're drawn in by the face, and then attention is pulled down the body and out with the cape, very nice effect. I also like how the emphasis is on the woman, Eva. The colors fit with her pale skin and hair, and the dress is beautiful with taking all the attention. And the continued pearl theme was a nice touch, now I'm really interested in her . She makes me think of a very lady like individual but one that can still take care of herself. Lovely
Wonderful painting except for the breasts. The size really just doesn't make anatomical sense and takes away from the other lovely details you've added. Unfortunately, instead of being drawn tot he lovely face and clothes that you've spent so much time on, I'm sitting here pondering whether or not an elf would have breast enhancement surgery. Face, clothes, ears, and hair are absolutely lovely and I like the way the jewelry ties things together.
I just wanted to post to say that this character is naturally busty and that is kind of one of her defining characteristics and I feel that Jenny captured her essence so beautifully here. If there is any fault found with the character's shape, I suppose that may fall to the character herself, or the way we have defined her. The artist has done an extraordinary job in portraying her to our specifications though, and we are both grateful!
Eva puts me in mind of a taller version of my favorite OC [link] — a half-elven member of elven royalty. A lot of the scathing comments that others have made actually bring to mind challenges my Alissariel has had to face to be accepted amongst her elven father's people. Thanks for sharing that bit of her background with us.
Thank you for the words, dear. Your OC is lovely and it is nice to see other elvish types portrayed in ways like this. Too often I think there is an expectation that things be depicted in a particular way to be regarded as beautiful - but such a thing is so often relative. In any case, Eva isn't really elven either, but rather elezen - which is one of the playable races from the online game Final Fantasy XIV. While I'm sure they were inspired by true elves, they are as a race naturally taller, and less lithe. If you are interested in learning more, she has her own wiki page here: [link] - though it is a bit of a work-in-progress at the moment, it features a more detailed character description, some screenshots from the game, and a few artists' renditions of her as well.
Thanks for the additional explanation. One thing I often lament about Deviant Art is that most of the time we are left in the dark considering the actual story behind a particular piece — to me that's one of the most important parts.
BTW, it's funny Eva's write-up mentioned her being short for her race. In the stories and game from which Alis hails (Pathfinder RPG), she was incredibly short for an elf as well. In fact, when she unknowingly received a gift that could grant one's desires, she awoke the next day to find herself taller of all things.
At any rate, you inspired to do some clean-up work on Alis' wiki page today myself! [link] Feel free to peruse it and my game if you like (I'd love to be able to turn Alis' tale into a manga or animé some day)...
